Badovini joins Checa at Team Ducati Alstare
Ayrton Badovini has been named as Carlos Checa's teammate at the new Team Ducati Alstare.
Having parted ways with Althea in the wake of the 2012 Championship, Ducati and Checa have teamed up with Francis Batta's Belgian organisation 'Team Alstare' for the 2013 season.
"At Ducati, we are very happy and confident with this agreement," said Ducati Superbike Project Manager Ernesto Marinelli.
"The professionalism, passion and sporting character of Francis Batta and all his staff, together with his structure, which sets anindustry standard in terms of equipment and organisation, are vital elements for our future plans.
"We have a lot of work to do, and I am sure that we are able to do it in the best possible way."
The Alstare partnership, though, was not the only announcement as the new team also confirmed that former Superstock 1000 Champion Ayrton Badovini would race alongside Checa.
The 26-year-old arrives at the new team having spent the last two seasons with BMW Italia during which time he netted a single podium finish.
Badovini and Checa, the 2011 World Superbike Champion, will ride the all-new 1199 Panigale in the 2013 WSBK Championship.
