Sykes fastest in Phillip Island testing
Kawasaki's Tom Sykes was the fastest in testing at Phillip Island ahead of the start of the SBK season as he followed up his power performance on Monday by staying fastest overall on Tuesday.
The British racer was marginally quicker than 2011 World Champion Carlos Checa on the Althea racing Ducati. The in-form Checa ultimately fell 0.004secs behind Sykes during the third outing, although Checa nevertheless topped three of the four sessions, including Tuesday's afternoon outing. .
