Lorenzo will 'pass notes' to Rossi
Jorge Lorenzo insists he will work with Valentino Rossi as the former rivals gain team up at Yamaha.
Lorenzo previously partnered Rossi at Yamaha from 2008 to 2010, however, the situation was anything but amicable.
As both riders fought it out at the front of the pack, chasing race wins and titles, the duo first stopped collaborating and then stopped talking to each other at all.
The breakdown in the relationship, coupled with Lorenzo winning the 2010 title, resulted in Rossi leaving to join Ducati.
The 33-year-old, though, is now back at Yamaha after two dismal seasons with the Italian outfit, prompting some speculation about whether the two former rivals can work together.
Lorenzo insists they can.
"It is better to work together than to go separately. We are in the same team," said the reigning World Champ.
Asked if this time the relationship with Rossi would be different, he said: "Yes, probably something has changed.
"I hope so. I think he hopes so.
"You can share information. You can speak about the new improvements (that is needed). We must pass some notes. Together is better."
