Stoner downplays V8 Supercar rumours

Casey Stoner has downplayed reports that he's off to the Australian V8 Supercar Dunlop Series, saying he has yet to decide what his future holds.

Stoner quit MotoGP at the end of last season, bringing to an end a career that included 38 race wins in the premier and two World Championship titles.

However, it appears the Aussie won't be away from racing for very long with a report in Australia's Sunday Mail linking him to a race-seat in Supercars.

The newspaper claimed that Stoner's first outing would be during a test at the Sydney Motorsport Park on 16 February in a Red Bull-backed Holden Commodore.

The 27-year-old's first race would two weeks later at the Clipsal 500, which takes place around the streets of Adelaide.

Stoner, though, has downplayed the report.

"Don't believe everything you read!" he wrote on Twitter.

"Haven't decided what I'm doing yet of course V8 Supercars is on the cards. Will let you know when I do!"
