Marquez must be patient - Agostini
Former World Champion Giacomo Agostini believes that Marc Marquez must temper his expectations in his first season in MotoGP.
The highly-rated teenager enters the category with Honda as the Moto2 champion, having gone one better in 2012 than he did in 2011.
However, despite his rapid rise to prominence, Agostini has warned that the jump to MotoGP is a big one and that his success will most likely not be replicated straight away.
"Marquez is impressing everyone," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I hope he is guided in a good way, because to think you can win everything immediately is difficult: fruit needs time to get ripe.
"He'll do a great season, but he can't expect to have everything this year already.
"To move up from Moto2's 140 horse power to MotoGP's 240 is no stroll in the park. He must not overdo things."
