Dovi hopes to recover in time
New Factory Ducati MotoGP rider Andrea Dovizioso is recovering after undergoing surgery to remove a plate from his shoulder.
The plate was inserted in order to facilitate healing on his fractured right collar bone he injured during a motocross accident in January.
"Just woke up. The doctors told me that the operation went well. Soon I will go home and start rehabilitation," Dovizioso wrote on his Twitter page.
The surgery was not related to the neck problems that prevented Dovizioso taking part in Ducati's private three-day test at Jerez last week however.
The Italian revealed that the neck problems surfaced after his accident at Sepang in October, but had been treated by anti-inflammatory medicine and physiotherapy.
Dovizioso finished fourth on his Monster Yamaha Tech 3 in MotoGP this year, but has until the first official MotoGP test of 2013 - at Sepang in early February - to recover from his neck and shoulder injuries.
