Weather is not my friend - Marquez

Marc Marquez is beginning to wonder if the weather gods will ever smile down on him after yet another day of testing was blighted by the rain.

The reigning Moto2 Champion, who is making the move up to the premier class with Honda for next season, was testing his new RC213V machine at the Sepang circuit on Friday along with Gresini's Álvaro Bautista and two Honda test riders.

But with heavy rain having fallen overnight, the four riders had to wait until mid-day to even get out onto the track.

The conditions deteriorated again two hours later as the rain came down with Marquez having covered just 26 laps with a best time of 2:03.65.

"At the moment the weather is definitely not our friend!" said the Spaniard.

"This morning the circuit was wet and we waited until 11:00 to go out on track. After only 4 exits it began to rain again and the day was over for us."

And even when he was on the track, Marquez was hampered by the conditions.

"The grip level was very low and at the beginning it was quite difficult to find any grip at all.

"However I am happy because I have been able to improve my lap time each time I went out, even though I remained on the same tyres.

"Let's hope that the weather will be kinder tomorrow and it won't rain!"

Bautista's best time for the day was a 2:02.19, which was quickest of all.
