Elias remains stand-in for Brno

Hector Barbera's crash at Indianapolis means that Toni Elias will remain the stand-in rider for Pramac Ducati at Brno this weekend.

"I'm really excited about going to the Czech Republic with the Pramac Racing Team and I feel very honoured to be confirmed as a substitute, for this 12th round of the season," said Elias.

"I will stand in with the Green Energy Team for the third time and my feeling, both with the bike and the team, is increasing a lot compared to the Laguna Seca race."

Elias crashed out at Laguna Seca, but will have happy memories of Brno, where he secured his most recent MotoGP podium finish in 2009, adding to his second-place finish as a fulltime Pramac Ducati rider in 2008.

"Brno is one of my favourite tracks, because it's technical and fast and these features allow riders to get the full potential of their bike. I have great memories here in Brno and they are a big stimulus to catch a good result also this year."

Barbera had returned to action after after breaking both bones in his lower left leg in a training accident on July 20, but crashed out with a high side at the end of opening practice in Indianapolis, fracturing three vertebrae.

It's unclear whether he will return to action in time for the following round at Misano starting on September 14.
