De Angelis to step in for Edwards
Alex de Angelis will take the step up from Moto2 to MotoGP for Monday's Estoril test, replacing the injured Colin Edwards at Forward Racing.
Edwards is set to undergo an operation after breaking his collarbone in a qualifying accident on Saturday.
The Texan, sitting up 12 minutes before the hour-long session concluded, was taken out by Randy de Puniet when his fellow CRT rider crashed and collected Edwards in the slide.
Edwards landed heavily on his left shoulder, breaking his collarbone, which will be operated on by Dr Javier Mir on Monday.
Forward Racing have opted to draft in their Moto2 rider de Angelis to fill the gap in Monday's Estoril test.
"I have accepted the team's offer to test on Colin's CRT tomorrow since he was injured after yesterday's crash and will not be able to ride at the test," de Angelis revealed on Sunday night.
"I know the team has many things to test and its with great honour that I have accepted the proposal because I think I can be useful.
"Even if my lap times will not anywhere close to Colin's, I still hope I can contribute to the development of the bike because I really think the team disserves it."
