Cup of Nations for Krugersdorp
It is less than a month before the AMU Cup of Nations motocross event to be held at Dirt Bronco outside Krugersdorp on 28th and 29th August and things are already hotting up.
Currently, no less than 80 riders have entered, with entries arriving daily from all over Africa for this prestigious event. As the only international motocross event on the continent in 2010, it offers South African motorsport enthusiasts the opportunity to see South Africa's very best riders pit their skills against Africa's best.
The event will showcase six classes competing in three 3 heats on the day to determine both the best Individuals and the best Country in Africa.
Francois Pretorius, Managing Director of Motorsport South Africa says he sees this as being an event that will be remembered as the best to date. The last time this prestigious event was run in South Africa was some 10 years ago and the country has eagerly waited the opportunity to host it again.
Dirt Bronco, situated in Krugersdorp 40km west of Johannesburg, is currently being transformed into a venue which will be able to meet the demands of an event of this scale. Dedicated food and beverage areas will be supplemented by a beer garden and spectators will be able to get up close to the action with new spectator areas built within the circuit.
Spectators will be able to meet riders from all over Africa as well as the local heroes, and see how things are done in the pits as well as on the track.
Tickets cost R60 for adults and R30 for children under 12. The price of the ticket is for both days, including the practice day (Saturday, 28 August) and race day (Sunday, 29 August).
