Bahrain F1 problems continue

Bahrain Grand Prix officials say they have reinstated most of the employees fired as part of a crackdown on dissent in the Gulf kingdom.

One worker, however, says they have been told to miss the Formula One race on 22 April.

Lawrence Jones, a spokesman for the Bahrain International Circuit, says 19 of the 27 employees stood down in the wake of last year's opposition protests returned to work Monday after the season-opening F1 race last year was canceled due to political unrest.

One employee, who only would be identified by his initials MAM, says the circuit agreed on Sunday to give workers their old jobs back but reportedly told them a day later to take a vacation and miss the race - a claim Jones says is untrue.
