Jenson Button - McLaren

Button expects big improvement

Formula One world champion Jenson Button expects a big improvement at next week's Melbourne Grand Prix following his McLaren debut in Bahrain last weekend.

The Briton opened the season with seventh place at Sakhir last Sunday. He finished four places behind teammate Lewis Hamilton and was more than six seconds slower than race winner Fernando Alonso for Ferrari.

"I will feel more comfortable within the car when we arrive in Melbourne," said Button.

Button and Hamilton agree the Australian circuit will suit their cars better than the remodeled Bahrain track.

Speaking on Thursday at the launch of a range of commercial McLaren sports cars, Hamilton said the drivers "drilled into the engineers that we dissect everything."
