German fans not missing Schumacher
Six out of 10 Germans who follow Formula One won't miss retired seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher in the 2013 season, according to a survey carried out for dpa.
The survey carried out by online market research agency YouGov showed 60 per cent as saying the 44-year-old German, who retired at the end of last season, won't be missed this year.
Only 28 per cent of those polled thought Schumacher's absence would be a loss for the sport.
Schumacher initially retired at the end of 2006 but returned in 2010 with Mercedes. However his last three years in F1 produced just a single podium finish.
Compatriot Sebastian Vettel has meanwhile won the F1 drivers' title in a Red Bull for the last three seasons.
One thousand people took part in the online survey between March 6 and 8.
