Lets's Play Rugby in Nigeria

The first Let’s Play Rugby Activation in partnership with the National Sports Commission, the Lagos Ministry of Youth, Sport and Social Development & Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) took place at Onikan Stadium in Lagos on December 7.

The activation was attended by about 700 boys and girls aged 8-16yrs from a number of local schools.

The head coach from the NRFF Mr Jide Afolabi, assisted by the National Rugby Coach Mr Joseph Mbu and various players from the national rugby team, the Black Stallions, took charge of the coaching skills in extremely hot conditions.

The skills programme included agility, ball handling & passing, hand, eye, ball coordination and lifestyle skills associated to the game of rugby.

Each child received a Let’s Play t-shirt and Let’s Play rugby balls were used during the programme.

Let’s Play Ambassador, Victor Ikpeba was on hand to conduct the interviews, the footage of which will soon be seen across the SuperSport channels in Africa.
