Ishikawa gets another Masters invitation

Ryo Ishikawa of Japan is headed back to the Masters with another special invitation.

Augusta National says Ishikawa and Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand have accepted invitations, which are reserved for international players. It will be the fifth straight year for Ishikawa playing the Masters.

Thaworn won the Asian Tour money title last year and holds the Asian Tour record for most career victories. He won the India Open last year for his 15th title.

Ishikawa has dropped out of the top 50 in the world. Masters chairman Billy Payne says Ishikawa finished strong last year, including his 10th career win on the Japan Golf Tour.

These special invitations typically go to players who are not US PGA Tour members, and it might be the last one for Ishikawa. He joined the US tour this year for the first time.
