Dynamos calll off camp

Zimbabwe Caf Champion League representatives Dynamos haven’t gone to the planned camp as they prepare for their Africa safari.

The Harare based side was supposed to go into camp during the second week of January but that never happened.

Club chairman Kenny Mubaiwa said the team was supposed to camp in Chiredzi or Kariba but could not make it. He, however, poured cold water on the reports suggesting that lack of financial backing caused the cancelling of the camp.

He said their sponsors BancABC have given them the money for the camp. But he added that the money came a bit late for the team to move out of Harare at this stage.

“We have the financial backing from our sponsors. But we thought we have many friendly games to play in Harare and going away would be somehow disturbing for the coach and his technical team as they prepare for the first game in Africa. We are happy with the preparations and we want to keep it that way,” Mubaiwa said.

Late this month, DeMbare are scheduled to take on South Africa side Mamelodi Sundowns in a international friendly game in Harare before playing in the BOB 89 Super Cup against Bulwayo rivals Highlanders.
