Platinum to promote youngsters

In a bid to build a very strong team this season FC Platinum have also looked at their own development setup and promoted youngsters.

Coach Tennant Chilumba has recommended Talbert Shumba and Terrence Rukweza to be promoted to the first team.

The Zambian born mentor has said that the team needs a mixture of the youth and experience, so the promotion will help them achieve that goal. He said the two players, who he has promoted, have shown that they can hold the pressure of playing in the first team.

“The team has very good development structures and at times it is not good to just go and buy players while you have your own youngsters who can do the job. That’s why we have promoted Shumba and Rukweza because I know they will fit into the first team,” Chilumba said.

Chilumba has taken over the reins at the team from Tendai Chikuni who was a caretaker coach last season.

Chikuni is still in the technical team as assistant to Chilumba and together they are looking at building a strong team, not just for this coming season, but for the future.
