Amini heads to SA for trial

Former Zimbabwe Under-23 captain and FC Platinum defender Qadr Amini and is in South Africa for trials at three time league winners SuperSport United.

The left back was once on the wanted list of Orlando Pirates but a move to the Sea Robbers did not materialise.

Now he has a chance to play in South Africa if he convinces the SuperSport United technical team that he has what it takes. The player left with country with United’s assistant coach Kaitano Tembo.

Platinum coach Tennant Chilumba confirmed that the defender left the country for South Africa but couldn’t exactly say where he was headed to in South Africa. The Zambian said that the player left with his manager to a team in South Africa.

“I can’t say where exactly in South Africa Amini has gone but yes it is a team in the South African PSL. We wish him all the best and I know he is a very good young defender. I hope he can make it in South Africa, though I know the demand is high compared to here in Zimbabwe. He is matured now and he can make it there,” Chilumba said.

Another Zimbabwean defender, Partson Jaure from Dynamos, also had trials at SuperSport United but things didn’t work out for him.
