Katembe decamps to Platinum

Castle Lager Premier Soccer League and cup champions Dynamos will feel hard done by after narrowly missing out on acquiring the services of Zambian defender Aaron Katembe.

Katembe was seemingly on his way to the Zimbabwean giants, but at the last minute he opted to join FC Platinum, who are coached by his countryman Tennant Chilumba.

Chilumba told supersport.com that he is happy to have recruited Katembe, and he is confident the player will adjust swiftly to his new environment having played in the country’s top-flight before.

Chilumba, who revealed Katembe has already been training with his side, believes the deal suits both parties.

“We have finalised the deal on Aaron,” said Chilumba.

“He has joined the team in training and I think it is a good move for the player as well as the team. He has the experience as he has played in the Castle Lager league before so it is not a new environment for him,” concluded Chilumba.
