Mukamba signs for Wits
Denver Mukamba has signed a two-year contract with South African Premier Soccer League side Bidvest Wits.
Supersport.com caught up with Mukamaba, the 2012 Soccer Star of the Year, who couldn’t hide his excitement at joining the Clever Boys following his successful trial with the Johannesburg-based outfit.
“I have always wanted to play professionally and this is my chance to launch my career,” said Mukamba, who is back in Zimbabwe as he awaits his work permit.
Mukamba, formerly on the books of Zimbabwean champions Dynamos, is looking forward to linking up with Warriors enforcer Tinashe Nengomasha and fellow compatriot Thomas Sweswe at the club.
“It is good I will be playing with Tinashe and Thomas who will guide me at the team and how to go about with things here,” he said.
“I just have to continue my hard work but I am so excited to be here,” concluded Mukamba.
Wits are ninth in the PSL standings with 19 points – 16 points adrift of leaders Kaizer Chiefs and six points above the drop zone after 16 rounds of fixtures.
