CAPS want return to glory

The once mighty CAPS United has struggled for trophies in the past three years.

This year, they want to change that and they have already started recruiting new players for the forthcoming season. Now they are looking beyond the borders to bring in Zambian goalkeeper Kalilo Kakonje.

The former AmaZulu FC goalkeeper in South Africa is currently with the Zambian national team ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

CAPS assistant coach Brenna Msiska said that they are just waiting for him to come back from the tournament and then they can finalise the deal.

“All we want to do this season is reclaim our glory. We know what we are supposed to do and we are going to do just that. We know it won’t be easy but we can do it if we sign the right kind of players,” he said.

“That’s why we want to add some international players to our squad this season,” the CAPS legend said.

CAPS have in the past represented Zimbabwe in the Champions League where they have done well and have produced top players like Nyasha Mushekwi and Method Mwanjali of Mamelodi Sundowns and Gilbert Mapemba of Moroka Swallows.

The assistant coach said they would want to have more players in that calibre and continue to do well.
