Chicken Inn appoint Mpofu as coach
Chicken Inn was left coachless after the shocking death of Adam Ndlovu in December.
Now the team has hired former assistant coach Mamdla Mpofu as their new coach. Mpofu worked with the late Ndlovu and they took the Bulawayo side to the third on the Castle Lager League table after finishing seventh in 2011.
Mpofu will be assisted by Sikhumbuzo Banda, and the team’s secretary general Tawengwa Hara told Supersport.com that they are confident that Mpofu will continue where they left off with the late Ndlovu last season.
“We have decided to give him the job. He knows the team better and he was there last season which I think is a good idea for the team going forward,” he said.
“We have the trust in the coach and his technical team. We know they will be doing a great job for the team and we wish them all the best,” Hara said.
Ndlovu died in a car accident in December which not only shocked Chicken Inn, but the footballing community as a whole.
