Masimba Mambare @ SS com

Mambare is Highlanders Player of the Year

Highlanders striker Masimba Mambare was the biggest winner at the clubs awards held over the weekend.

The striker had a very good season, scoring 14 goals for the team as they fought hard for the league title and ended in second position, behind winners Dynamos on goal difference.

Mambare, who is also in line for the next week’s PSL Soccer Star of the Year, told SuperSport.com that he is happy with his performance this season. The former Motor Action striker said that he wants to keep on working hard next season.

“It is not about the individual awards. It is about what the team did. I think we did very well though we didn’t win the league or any other trophy, but we did very well,” he said.

“As for myself, I am happy with the way I played this season and I just want to keep on improving. I thank my teammates for helping me achieve what I have achieved, and to my coach Kelvin Kaindu who made me believe in myself so much.” Mambare added.
