Highlanders striker happy with season
Highlanders striker Masimba Mambare has told Supersport.com that he had a great season according to his own assessment.
The former Motor Action player said that his hard work and the encouragement from the Zambian born Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu has allowed him to discover his best form.
“I have won the league before with Motor Action but very few people knew me at that time,” he said.
“After joining Highlanders coach Kaindu made me believe in myself and I think I had a very good season. I know we didn’t win the league but we did very well. Personally I think I had a great season and all that is because the coach believed not only in me but in the whole team. I am glad I did well.”
Mambare is in the running for the Soccer Star of the Year award but faces stiff competition from the likes of Dynamos gem Denver Mukamba.
Highlanders just missed out on the Castle Lager League title on goal difference against DeMbare, and were beaten just one throughout the entire league season.
