Rufaro to host Cup final

The Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League have finally decided that the Rufaru Stadium in Harare will host the final of Mbada Diamonds Cup on Saturday, from 1500H.

The final was supposed to be played at the National Stadium, but it is still going through renovations.

The PSL CEO Kennedy Ndebele told Supersport.com that they had to bring the game closer to both teams – Dynamos and Monomotapa. He said all the preparations for the final are almost finalised and all is set for Saturday.

“Everything is set for Saturday and as you know that’s the last game of the season. We are happy as the PSL that the season has gone very well so far,” he said. “We wish both teams all the best and may the best team win on the day.”

The winner of this cup is usually rewarded with the chance to go on to represent the country in the CAF Confederations Cup, but as it is now both teams have already qualified for African tournaments.

Dynamos won the Castle Lager League title and will therefore compete in the CAF Champions League while Monomotapa, who finished fourth in the league, will play in the CAF Confederation Cup.
