PSL names stars of the season

The Zimbabwe PSL has selected the 11 players who make up the Soccer Stars of the Season.

The current campaign comes to an end this afternoon when Dynamos or Highlanders will lift the league title.

DeMbare are favourites to be crowned the 2012 Castle Lager League Champions when they take on Hardbody at Aston Stadium in Gweru.

A draw is likely to be enough for them win the title, but knowing the Glamour Boys, they will fight for a win in their last game. The end of season Awards have been moved from 7 December tot 14 December at a venue yet to be announced by the PSL.

Here are the XI Soccer Stars:

Innocent Mapuranga, Ariel Sibanda, Mthulisi Maphosa, Masimba Mambare (all highlanders), Denver Mukamba, Partson Jaure (all Dynamos), Kuda Mahachi, Felix Chindungwe (all Chicken Inn), Ronald Chitiyo (Monomotapa), Nelson Mazivisa (Shabanie Mine), Rodwell Chinyengetere (Hwange).

The Soccer Star of the Year and his two runners up will be announced at a banquet on 14 December.

On the same day, the Most Promising Player, Coach of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year will be announced.

Nelson Mazivisa is the top-goal scorer with 18 goals and even if he doesn’t score in the last game today, it is unlikely that he will be caught at the top.
