Dynamos draw to take the title

Dynamos drew 1-1 with Hardybody at Ascot Stadium in Gweru on the final day of the season but that was enough to see the Glamour Boys win and defend the Castle Lager League title.

DeMbare finished on the same points tally as title-rivals Highlanders but they have a better goal aggregate and therefore finished on top.

In the game, that Dynamos went into wanting to avoid a loss, they drew first blood in the 35th minute through Rodreck Mutuma after a good move from the midfield.

They continued to look for more goals but their already-relegated opponents did well to hold off them off for the rest of the half.

In the second period, Hardbody searched for an equaliser and it came five minutes in through Kallisto Maheya who put the ball past the goalkeeper.

From there on, both sides searched for a winning goal but it never came as Dynamos grabbed the point they needed.

With the draw, DeMbare didn’t have to worry too much as about the result in Harare where Highlanders were playing Blue Rangers as Bosso would have had to score at least 8 unanswered goals to win the trophy.

Now Dynamos are in line for a double, just like last season, as they are in the Mbada Diamonds Cup final against Monomotapa next week Saturday.
