Stars to be selected on Saturday

The season comes to an end tomorrow, but today the football stakeholders will sit down and select the top 11 stars of the season.

It will be very tough for the coaches, administrators and football writers as there were a number of decent performances this term, despite the Asiagate scandal that rocked the league.

PSL CEO Kennedy Ndebele said that all is set for the event today, which is not an open one but for the stakeholders who are involved in the selection only.

He said that after this, the main awards day will be held on 7 December when the Soccer Star of the Year will be crowned.

“We are glad that the league has gone very well. We know everywhere there are challenges but I think we have done very well when faced with such challenges,” Ndebele said.

Below is the full list of Awards for 7 December:

Soccer Star of the Year – US$5 000 1st Runner Up – US$3 000 2nd Runner Up – US$2 000 Footballers of the Year (8 finalists) – US$8 000 Top Goal Scorer of the Year – US$3 000 Goalkeeper of the Year – US$2 000 Rookie of the Year – US$2 000 Coach of the Year – US$3 500 Referee of the Year – US$2 000 1st Runner Up – US$1 500 2nd Runner Up – US$1 000 Most Disciplined Team – US$10 000
