PSL plans for Sunday's league finale
The Zimbabwe Castle Lager League season comes to an end on Sunday with both Dynamos and Highlanders having the chances to win the trophy.
The PSL wants to avoid a scenario where Highlanders, though two points behind Dynamos, win the title in Harare where they play against Blue Rangers and have to wait for a trophy.
Dynamos, who play Hardbody in Gweru, may be favourites as a draw would almost certainly be enough but the PSL plan to have two trophies – one at each venue – to ensure that celebrations go smoothly.
PSL CEO Kennedy Ndebele told Supersport.com that they will be meeting this afternoon (Thursday) to look into the matter.
“We have to plan for two trophies. We are not yet 100 percent sure which team is winning so to avoid that we have to have trophies at both venues,” he said.
“It is still open with just a two point gap. We have to be on top of our game as well in planning for the final games on Sunday. We are meeting this afternoon to finalise that. We will have all the details this evening on how the league will come to an end on Sunday,” Ndebele concluded.
