Highlanders face Platinum test

Highlanders, of Bulawayo, will be hoping that things go there way as they aim to wrestle the title away from their Harare rivals Dynamos.

Highlanders are in action on Wednesday against sixth-placed FC Platinum at Barbourfields Stadium, at 15:00, at the very same time that current leaders Dynamos host Buffaloes in Harare.

Highlanders are in contention to claim the crown as they are just two points adrift of their rivals with two games to go. Highlanders will be looking to make up for being knocked out of the Mbada Diamonds Cup, and are in danger of finishing the season without any silverware if they slip up.

Highlanders coach Kevin Kaindu said that they are not focusing on other teams and what they can do, but they are instead keeping their eyes firmly on their upcoming fixtures. He said they have to win their games and just see what happens with the other games.

“We have our own games to play and that’s what we are going to do. We should not be looking for favours from other teams but do our own job,” he said.

“We will wait until Sunday and see who wins the league. We are still in the race until the last minute of the season. We will fight our wars and win them,” the Zambian-born mentor concluded.
