Chintu signs for Warriors



Former BidVest Wits defender Kapamba Chintu has joined Zambian MTN Super Division side Kabwe Warriors where he played his first game over the weekend.

Chintu was offloaded by Wits at the start of the South African season and he has been without a club since then.

Warriors chairman Andrew Kamanga confirmed to Supersport.com that the former AmaZulu FC defender is with them. He said they needed his experience in the team and they are happy they have him.

“We are happy to have signed Chintu. He is an experienced defender and he will be helping the team in our campaign this season. He even scored in his first game over the weekend and we are just looking forward to having good time with him in the team,” Kamanga said.

Chintu lost his place in the Zambian national team Chipolopolo due to lack of game time since he did not have a team. With him signing for Warriors there are chances that he would come back into the team for their World Cup 2014 qualifying campaign.
