Kalaba, who has been out of action since October is undergoing light training exercises under the supervision of Chipolopolo physiotherapist Gibson Chaloba.
He is expected to resume full training in a week.
Chaloba told fazfootball.com that The Master needs to follow through a carefully planned training programme but that he will be 100 percent ready for the start of Zambia's Afcon defence.
"He will be ready for the Africa Cup. He is doing very well; that's why he has started training. He will be ready" Chaloba said.
