Zesco for Mozambique tourney
Zesco United Football Club has been invited to participate in a four team tournament organised by Cahora Bassa of Mozambique to take place in the North-Western town of Songo.
The other participating teams were confirmed as HCB Songo, Chingele Tete and Mozambique champions Feroviaro Maputo.
Before departure on Wednesday, head coach Wedson Nyirenda named a 20-man squad which included goalkeeper Brown Nyirenda who spent the second half of the season on loan at Nkana FC. Also included is striker Winston Kalengo who had returned from Tanzania where he had gone for trials with Azam FC.
Zimbabwean left back Zimiseleni Moyo and central defender Nyambe Mulenga were not named in the squad.
Zesco United will kick off against the Mozambique champions Feroviaro Maputo on Friday while the other semi-final clash will see HCB Songo squaring off against Chingele Tete.
