Renard calls up duo
Zambia's head coach Herve Renard has summoned Mwape Musonda of Konkola Mine Police and Stanley Nshimbi of Red Arrows as late inclusions to the developmental squad which will play an international friendly against Zimbabwe on Wednesday.
Teenager Juma Mutale of Kabwe Inter Sport was also recently called-up to the squad after he had impressed for the Central Province Airtel Rising Stars team.
And Winston Kalengo, John Chingandu and Charles Siyingwa were not allowed to join their colleagues in camp after they reported late. Team Manager Lusekelo Kamwambi said that the three had failed to observe the rules and regulations for reporting to the national team camp.
"We have rules which apply to all players. If any player does not adhere to the laid down rules, he is subjected to disciplinary action and in this case the three players were asked not to join the squad," said Kamwambi.
Meanwhile Kamwambi told SuperSport.com after the team's first training session at Mwanawasa Stadium on Monday morning that twenty-seven players were already in camp. The only players who had not yet reported were Lawrence Phiri of Progresso in Angola and Aaron Katebe of Hwange FC in Zimbabwe.
Kamwambi added that the duo was expected to arrive in Ndola on Monday afternoon.
And defender Nyambe Mulenga did not take part in the morning training session for fear of aggravating a knee injury he picked up in the match against Nakambala Leopards about a week ago.
"I did not train with the squad in the morning following instructions from the medical team. I am fit to play but the doctors did not want me to take chances. I hope to take part in the afternoon session," said Nyambe.
