URA defender Ssegawa ruled out
URA will be without left back Lawrence Ssegawa after the defender injured his jaw just three days before the all-important continental clash against Cameroon’s Coton Sport on Saturday.
Ssegawa picked up the knock in a warm-up game in which URA were held to 2-2 draw by SC Victoria University at Namboole Stadium on Wednesday. It is feared the defender could be out for several months.
The club confirmed Ssegawa “dislocated a jaw and may be out for some months.” But URA coach Paul Nkata is still hopeful the other injured players could be fit for the game. “Ssegawa is out but we are still waiting and hopeful on the rest,” he said.
Derrick Walulya, Oscar Agaba (both malaria) and Osama Farouk (bruise) are those listed as injured and doubtful.
URA held Cameroon's Coton Sport away and for the tax collectors o progress to the first round of the Caf Champions League, they must avoid a scoring draw or must beat the visitors.
