Simba, Victors settle for draw

On a day 14 goals were scored in three Bell Super League games on Friday, Simba and Victors could only contribute two as they settled for a 1-1 draw at Bombo.

Both goals were scored in a space of just 60 seconds, James putting the visitors’ head upfront on 20 minutes before Haruna Ssali leveled for Simba immediately after.

The result sees Simba go third in standings on 21 points, eight behind leaders Maroons and four adrift of second-placed Express.

Victors remain third from bottom on just eight points having won only two of their last 11 games.

There was not much to write about this game, really, despite the drama of scoring the two goals with a minute of each other.

That drama saw Simba, who have now drawn two matches on the trot, force the game into half time level, but that was just about it.
