Umony braced for Amavubi clash
Azam player Brian Umony is itching to take on Rwanda with the striker looking to adapting to different combinations on the day.
Cranes coach Bobby Williamson is looking to trying out several combinations when Uganda face Rwanda’s Amavubi Stars in an international friendly in Kigali on Wednesday.
And Umony, who has so far scored one goal and made three assists since his move to Azam mid this season, is looking to being part of the Scot’s formations, more so, helping the Cranes to victory.
“Look, it may just be a friendly on paper but for us it is a very important game,” Umony told SuperSport.com after Monday’s training at Namboole.
“It’s a game we have to win, and we want to win. The coach is looking at a couple of combinations, a couple of players, so it’s a good opportunity for us. But that does not take away the respect we have for Rwanda.
The Cranes of 18 players and officials leave for Kigali on Tuesday aboard Air Uganda.
