Bunnamwaya remain winless

Bunnamwaya’s search for their first win of the Bell Super League season continued on Tuesday after they came from behind only to draw 1-1 with Police at Luzira Prison Grounds.

Ibrahim Kibumba gave Police the lead after just four minutes but Henry Makumbi leveled for Bunnamwaya 13 minutes later.

The result sees Police stay in fifth place with 11 points while Bunnamwaya move one up from bottom to 10th on four points in the 11-team league.

Bunnamwaya, the 2010 league champions, have now gone nine matches without a win, five of them losses. Police on the other hand have thus far registered three victories in nine games.

League action continues on Wednesday when table toppers Maroons and pursuers SC Villa go head-to-head.

The two face off at Nakivubo Stadium with Maroons looking to open up a seven-point lead at the summit.

Asaph Mwebaze’s Maroons lead the standings with 22 points, four ahead of Mike Mutebi’s Villa and Ibrahim Buwembo’s Express, having won seven of their eight games and drawn the other.
