Wink by Dinamo's star purely innocent - Gomis

Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis says the wink aimed at him by Dinamo Zagreb defender Domagoj Vida during their Champions League game was completely innocent.

Gomis tells sports daily L'Equipe that "we were having a laugh (together) on the field" but "this match was not fixed."

Lyon's 7-1 win on Wednesday put it into the last 16 of the Champions League. That, combined with the apparent ease with which it scored some of its goals, sparked talk that the match may have been fixed.

Neither Uefa's gambling fraud detection system nor France's online gambling regulator ARJEL found anything suspicious after looking into betting patterns.

Uefa is awaiting reports from officials at the match before deciding whether to investigate further.
