Simba, Azam return with a bang
Tanzania champions Simba registered an emphatic 3-1 victory over African as the Vodacom Premier League resumed on Saturday.
Ramadhan Chombo gave Simba an early over Lyon in fourth minute of the game connecting a well Cross from Mrisho Ngassa, before Ngassa himself made it 2-0 in favor of the Msimbazi boys in the 19th minute.
Ngassa continued with his fine form as he netted his brace in the 40th minute, to give Simba a perfect 3-0 lead over Lyon at the break.
In the Second half, Lyon were more defensive to prevent Simba from adding on their tally and they were on the break in hour mark as Bright Ike scored a consolation goal for Lyon.
French Coach Patrick Liewig got his first league win, as Simba grabbed a 3-1 victory over African Lyon.
Elsewhere, a brace from Khamis Mcha and a goal for Abdi Kassim were enough as Azam registered a 3-1 win over Kagera Sugar at the Chamazi Stadium.
Yanga will be in action on Sunday against Tanzania Prison as they eye to stretch their winning run on Top of the League to nine games.
