Mcha earns first call up



Zanzibar Heroes and Azam FC midfielder Khamis Mcha has earned his first call-up to the Taifa Stars squad ahead of their friendly clash against Zambia’s Chipolopolo later this month.

National team head coach Kim Poulsen announced his squad earlier this week after arriving from Kampala on Sunday.

Mcha scored three goals in the 2012 Cecafa Tusker Cup and he help the Zanzibar heroes to earn a third place finish in the event.

Also three more players have earned their first call-ups to the National team that includes Aishi Manula (Azam u20), Samih Nuhu (Azam), and Issa Rashid (Mtibwa Sugar).

Taifa Stars will play a friendly match against the Chipolopolo on 22nd December, as the African Champions make final preparations for the Afcon 2013 held in South Africa.

Goal-keepers: Juma Kaseja (Simba), Mwadini Ally (Azam) and Aishi Manula (Azam u20).

Defenders: Shomari Kapombe (Simba), Erasto Nyoni (Azam), Nassoro Masoud 'Cholo' (Simba), Aggrey Morris (Azam), Samih Nuhu (Azam), Nadir Haroub ‘Cannavaro’ (Yanga), Amir Maftah (Simba), Issa Rashid (Mtibwa Sugar) and Kevin Yondani (Yanga).

Midfielders: Frank Domayo (Yanga), Athuman Idd 'Chuji' (Yanga), Mrisho Ngasa (Simba), Shabani Nditi (Mtibwa Sugar), Mcha Khamis (Azam), Salum Abubakar 'Sureboy' (Azam), Amri Kiemba (Simba) and Mwinyi Kazimoto (Simba).

Forwards: John Bocco (Azam), Simon Msuva (Yanga), Thomas Ulimwengu (TP Mazembe) and Mbwana Samata (TP Mazembe).
