Serengeti boys beat Congo

Tanzania's under-17 side Serengeti boys grabbed a 1-0 victory over Congo Brazziville to a African Youth Championships qualifier played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The homeside dominated the first half in-style, and their efforts were paid after Mudathir Yahya scored through a freekick in the 15th minute.

In the second half, the visitors had a lot of chances but they failed to find the net.

Brazzaville's French Coach Eddie Hudanski was sent off to the stands after, a series of quarrels with the match officials in the final minutes.

“It was a very competitive game, the Congo side were organized. It’s a good victory for us, at home, and the support was fantastic,” Serengeti boys head coach Jakob Michelsen told Supersport.com.

“Its not the end of the Journey. We have a return game at Congo, today's win is an advantage for us. We'll put more efforts to our next game to secure our place in the tournaments” he added.

The African Youth Championships (u17) will be held in Morocco next year.
