TPL dates moved further

Tanzania Vodacom Premier League will now kick off on September 15 following rescheduling by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF).

Previously, the league was scheduled to kick off on September 1.

“There are some changes in the calendar. The League committee held a meeting on Tuesday and decided to reschedule the kick off date of the Premier League. This is due to the ongoing negotiations between TFF and the Sponsors (Vodacom)” TFF Spokesman Boniface Wambura told SuperSport.com.

“The negotiations with Vodacom are expected to be finalized this week and a contract will be signed soon after the agreements are reached. The agreements will help the League to kick off without any problems, and some ammendments will be done in the league rules.” said Wambura.

“Vodacom Premier League fixtures are expected to be announced earlier next week, together with their dates. And due to the rescheduling of the League kick of date, the community shield match between Simba and Azam will be played a week before (Sept 8).”

Simba SC are the current Vodacom Premier Champions, while finalist Azam and 2012 Kagame Cup Champions Yanga SC finished second and third respectively last season.
