Maximo set to for Yanga role

Former Taifa Stars Brazilian head coach Marcio Maximo is expected to land in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday, to finalize negotiations of becoming Yanga's new head coach.

Yanga have been linked with the Brazilian coach, following the departure of Serbian Konstadin Papic as the head coach at the end of last season.

Maximo coached Taifa Stars from 2006 to 2010 when his contract expired and Danish man Jan Poulsen was appointed to succeed him.

He helped Tanzania to qualify for 2009 African Nations Championship (CAN) finals for home players which were held in Ivory Coast.

Yanga finished 3rd in the Vodacom Premier League this season, the club's lowest finish in the League since its formation.
