Basena wants Simba compensation

Sacked Ugandan coach Moses Basena is seeking compensation from Tanzania’s Vodacom Premier League giants Simba for unceremoniously ending his contract.

The former URA coach’s seven-month affair with Simba was confirmed terminated today with the announcement of returning Serbian Milovan Cirkovic as the new boss.

“I left when we were on top of the table and no one will question my performance. But their termination of my contract will be questioned,” Basena told SuperSport.com in Kampala.

“Our contract, a two-year contact, says if any party breaches it, they pay the other three months’ salary. It also says one must first get a three months’ notice. I haven’t seen it. I will get in touch with them on all that.”

Basena could not reveal how much he earned saying it would jeopardise compensation talks.
