Musa still an Eagle



Head coach of Nigeria’s national team, Stephen Keshi has revealed that he did not drop CSKA Moscow winger, Ahmed Musa but “merely excused” him from the May 31 international friendly against Mexico in Houston.

Keshi released a list of 25 players for the game which holds at the Reliant Stadium, Houston on May 31 with Musa’s name conspicuously missing from the list of players called up for the game.

The gaffer has now taken the time to explain the omission of the player from the list stating that he did not include Musa because his club, CSKA Moscow have an important game in the Russia Premier League on the same day.

“Musa was merely excused from the game against Mexico and is still very much a part of this team. He is still very much in my plans for the Fifa Confederations Cup and the World Cup qualifiers against Namibia and Kenya,” Keshi exclusively told supersport.com.

CSKA Moscow will face FK Rostov in a rescheduled Russia Premier League game at the Olimp-2 Stadium in Rostov-on-Don on May 31 and Musa is expected to play for Leonid Slutsky’s side in the game.

Musa has been in great form this season as his 11 goals this term means he is fourth in the top scorer’s log and also he is CSKA Moscow’s top scorer this season.
