Yobo, Oboabona savour qualification

The Nigeria Super Eagles overcame a nervous start to get past an obdurate Ethiopia and book their pace in the quarter-final against The Ivory Coast courtesy of two well taken penalties by Chelsea winger Victor Moses.

Joseph Yobo and fellow defender, Godfrey Oboabona spoke to supersport.com after the game about qualification:

Defender Godfrey Oboabona who has been backed by coach Keshi as a future star and national team skipper says "I really thank the Big Boss for the confidence he has in me, it makes me go out there and play my best all the time. Today, even going into the last few minutes I still believed we will do and thankfully we did it". Onto the quarter-finals and Drogba, Gervinho Toure etc? "Makes no difference brother, we have to play anyone and believe that we will be good enough on the day. One thing is for sure we will be ready for that match".

Skipper Yobo who came on in the closing stages "am happy we did it. I was sent on to close the game out, so am pleased we did in the end".
