Super Eagle Anichebe on song for Everton

Victor Anichebe scored for Everton in the Barclays English Premier League on Saturday to help the club to a 2-1 win over ten-man West Ham United at Upton Park.

Anichebe scored after 65 minutes to help the Toffees beat the Hammers who had shot into the lead through Nigerian-born Carlton Cole in the 14th minute.

Anichebe headed inside the far post after South African midfielder, Stephen Pienaar swept in a brilliant cross after cutting inside from the right.

The 24-year-old who has had an injury-blighted 2012/13 season has made just seven appearances for Everton this term.

He was left out of Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations by head coach, Stephen Keshi.

The striker has made 11 appearances for Nigeria’s Super Eagles netting once.
