Ibrahim may be Eagles' new pillar

Celtic duo, Efe Ambrose and Rabiu Ibrahim, have been called into Nigeria's provisional squad for the 2013 Afcon. But it is Rabiu's call that has hogged the headlines than his teammate at the Bhoys.

Rabiu with his guileful playmaking talent has been identified by a handful of Nigerian coaches as a player who will go places if handed the chance.

"I worked with Rabiu Ibrahim during my time as head coach of Gateway FC. He has the ability to turn any game on its head and he works hard for the team. But it's unfortunate that in Nigeria we are always in a hurry to see young players make it big rather than allow them develop properly.

"I'm happy that the current Super Eagles' coach (Stephen Keshi) is giving him the chance to be part of his team. I believe this is a good move by the coach as Rabiu is capable of helping out in the creative role of the team," said Gbenga Ogunbote, who was Rabiu's coach at Gateway FC in 2006.
