Tiago undergoes surgery on broken arm

Atletico Madrid said midfielder Tiago Cardoso has undergone surgery on his broken right arm.

The Portugal international broke the ulna bone in his forearm during Wednesday's Copa del Rey match with Sevilla.

Atletico's 2-2 draw was good enough to put them into the final, where they will face Real Madrid, on a 4-3 aggregate score.

The Spanish club did not say how long it expects Tiago to be out.

Tiago has played for Atletico since 2010 after stints with Braga, Benfica, Chelsea, Lyon and Juventus.
